Basement Renovation Project: Behind the scenes with Yuri
It’s been 6 years since Miracle Dream Homes started this basement renovation project. At the time our focus was on creating a beautiful functional space for our awesome customer. We didn’t have time to write blogs about it or make Facebook posts, we simply worked hard to complete this project and create something that was a product of our vision and passion.
Today, I’m sitting at my kitchen table having a morning coffee reflecting back on those many project and great times they brought into my life. The people we met, the friends we’ve made and the memories that will always remain with us. See the beauty about doing what we do is that we don’t just renovate basement bathrooms or finish basements, no we build memories, both for us and for our loyal customers.
I feel thankful for all these times and people.
But to get back to our project, it was a bare bone naked basement. One of your typical builder’s specials with some framing that we had to redo and some plumbing that had to be completely relocated. Thanks to our business partner John The Plumber, boys did a fantastic job moving those rough plumbing connections under what later on became a lower cabinets of a basement bar set up.
We spend quite some fun time mudding and sanding the drywall and both Alex and I were looking like ghosts for the rest of the day. Good times, good times.
These days are different, I don’t get to use the miter saw much at 7am nor do I run around with a Pasload nail gun. I’m here at my kitchen table writing this small blog while my well trained crews are doing what really matters. But I sure miss those real moments of putting our ideas into action and fun they brought alone.
The thing most people don’t realize is how much fun it can be to work along side of great people. How much laughter we had and utter silliness that came long. There’s a stigma about contractors being grumpy and unhappy, and I’ve seen some of those folks too. But you should visit our basement site to see the way “we roll” it’s a professional environment infused with elements of theology and stand up comedy. Those of our clients that know us sure know what I’m talking about
There I’ve deviated yet again from the subject of my writing. 6 Years ago we’ve started this basement renovation project, 4 months later we had a finished basement with bar/kitchen, bedroom, gym, full basement bathroom with custom shower and some amazing finishing’s. See for yourself.
