Can I use my own plumber/electrician?

The short answer is no. We have a licensed, certified, and skilled plumber and an electrician who not only provide us with amazing pricing but are also a joy to work with. Their work is impeccable! The reason we prefer to work with our own crew is not to be difficult or restrictive, but rather, to ensure that we can stand behind our work with a warranty. We provide you with a 3-year warranty on our labor. For us to do that, we need to take control and ownership of the job site by entrusting our crew members who share our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional bathroom renovation project experience from concept to completion, and for that, we need to be the “chef in the kitchen”.

Can I do my demolition?

Well, sure, maybe, but why? It is very common for customers to think that a DIY demolition will reduce the cost significantly. It does not. Depending on the size and type of bathroom being renovated, a demolition can cost us between $200 to $500. It’s not an area where you can make significant savings through a DIY effort. You can certainly get your hands dirty if that’s what you’d like. However, if you are thinking about saving money, just tell us. We will try to work in some sort of a discount into your overall bathroom renovation project costs but still provide you with a full warranty and follow our standard process.

Can I finance my project?

Yes, we are affiliated with FinaceIt and we can provide the convenient option of low monthly or bi-weekly payments that are fully open and can be repaid at any time. Most of the customers who choose to finance their bathroom renovation project will either opt for low bi-weekly payments with long loan amortization but will not carry the loan to its full maturity. Instead, they use the loan as a bridge and when their mortgage is ready for renewal, they repay the loan converting it to a low-interest rate. Another option is payment deferrals for 3 to 9 months with zero interest. We post all new updates and promotions on our social media platforms, so feel free to follow us there for updates.

How soon can you start?

Most often, this depends on you. If all the materials you have selected are in stock and ready to go, we usually need 4-8 weeks before we can start. We do have a short notice waiting list too. Sometimes when a product is delayed and we have an opening, we can begin another project while we wait. Many of our customers have taken advantage of that and renovated their bathroom much sooner than expected.

Do you provide a warranty?

Yes, we are proud of the work we do and stand behind our quality with a 3-year warranty on labour.

What is the payment schedule?

1) With the signed accepted estimate, the contract payment structure for bathrooms is as follows: $500 deposit at the time of accepting the quote and 3 equal instalments for the balance when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion. 2) For kitchen renovations, the initial $500 planning deposit is needed to develop the plans and the design for the exact kitchen quote (if a design and plans are needed). Paid after the home visit for initial consultation and measurements. Once the quote is accepted, the order of cabinets require 50% deposit for materials, then 2 equal payments upon delivery and upon installation. The rest of the labour costs, which is an estimate related to a general kitchen renovation work (other than cabinets order): like electrical, plumbing, drywall, tile etc., will have the initial planning deposit applied (credited) and the balance amount split into 3 equal payments paid when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion 3) For basement finishing contracts, depending on the scope of the project, but normally the initial $500 planning deposit is needed to develop the plans and the design for the exact scope of work in the basement. Paid after the home visit for initial consultation and measurements. Once the quote is accepted, the initial planning deposit is applied (credited) and the balance amount split into 3 equal payments paid when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion.

Where are you located, and do you work in my area?

Our home-based offices are in Stittsville, Kanata, and Barrhaven and Ottawa. We prefer not to rent or own physical office space as this will add to the cost of running a business and in turn drive the overall cost of bathroom renovations higher for our clients. Our contractors live across Ottawa, some in Stittsville, Nepean, Barrhaven, Kanata, and on the east end of Ottawa in Orleans. We service the entire Ottawa region. We have done bathroom, basement and kitchen renovation jobs in Carleton Place and Ashton, Arnprior, Stittsville, Kanata, Ottawa itself, and on the east end in Orleans, Rockland, and Cumberland.

How long will a bathroom renovation project take?

It’s difficult to provide accurate timelines, but here are some estimates to give you an idea: 2-piece powder room with tile will take under one week. 3-piece bathroom with tile is likely to be completed in under two weeks. 4-piece bathroom with tile shower and tub is usually done in under three weeks. I communicated with many members of MDH throughout our recent renovations of two full bathrooms. I recently had four rooms done, two full baths and two powder rooms. They were all sad and dated and worse for wear from the early 90's, so I wanted something with a clean and modern look up to 2020's standards. I found this company in a google search and checked out their customer reviews through Facebook groups, so they seemed legitimate with a track record of satisfied customers so I decided to give them a shot. My initial meetings with Agathe to see if they would be a good fit for my plans went well. For the products, I was guided for selection by Elliana, the project manager, but I made the purchases out of my pocket rather than through the contractor which resulted in some savings. Overall the service/labour costs were extremely reasonable, especially in comparison with other full service reno companies (as a general comp, they are about half what Amsted would have charged with a similar scale job). They were able to schedule-in my jobs exactly when I wanted and once I lined up my products, all the work was done with a lot of efficiency. The installers/workers were skilled, prompt, hard working, and conscientious---and this can't be underestimated when you're having strangers inside your home, they were nice and considerate. The work was solid and I will note that their problem solving skills were excellent---something you need when working on older homes with a lot of 'mistakes' in the original builds. This company perfectly suited me for my needs and the level of my particular renovations and realized my own modest visions for my modest home. I would say that you should know what you want for your home first before engaging and have an idea for your selections, then I would strongly recommend MDH/Capital Bathroom as very good quality, great-value middle-class renovators

We are so relieved we went with MDH instead of one of the other "full service" places. We were nervous at first about having to do our own shopping (what do I know about tiles and shower mixing valves?), but we ended up with exactly the finishings we wanted instead of being limited by the supplies chosen by a single company. And for SO much less money. We saved about 7000 on the project by buying everything ourselves. The MDH staff were helpful, efficient, communicative, and delivered quality work. Even though we have a tiny house with no garage, Victor managed to do the necessary cutting and drywall work without covering our whole place in dust. He was extremely accommodating and patient, even when some of the stores messed up our orders and he had to drive back and forth needlessly. We anticipated that we wouldn't be getting this work done until the fall or later, but MDH scheduled us within two weeks of having all the shopping done. We selected Miracle Dream Homes (MDH) for the renovation of our main bathroom based upon their positive online reviews and the accompanying photographs showcasing their work (see their website and instagram page for more info) . We were not disappointed. The service that we received from MDH was exceptional, from the early beginnings discussing our ideas for the renovation with Agathe and Ellie, all the way through to the demolition and renovation itself.Oleg, Dimitri, and Anatoliy completed the demolition of our existing bathroom and subsequently installed the completely new bathroom, which included installing new heated tile flooring, installation of a standalone shower (complete with subway tile) and free-standing tub, new toilet, new heated towel rack, new lighting, and a new vanity and mirror.Throughout this process the team was quiet (even during the demo!) and incredibly professional. As importantly, the quality of their work was exceptional. We went from what I can only describe as a dated bathroom to a bathroom deserving of a feature in 'House and Home' magazine. Basement Bathrooms: unique challenges

Renovating a basement bathroom is very different from renovating a bathroom on the main floor or upper level. There are quite a few unique challenges to consider, and it takes a skilled bathroom contractor to do it properly.

Ceiling Height and Layout Limitations

Basements usually have lower ceilings, structural beams, and limited space to work with. There are certain code requirements as to how low your ceilings can be. They also have to be kept in mind while designing your basement bathroom.

Proper Ventilation.

Basements typically often have poor airflow and higher humidity levels coming off of foundation. Having good ventilation is essential.

Waterproofing and Foundation Work

Because basements are below ground level, they’re more prone to moisture and water leaks. Before installing flooring or covering walls, be sure to check for signs of water damage or foundation issues.

Electrical Considerations

Basement bathrooms also need customized electrical work. GFCI protected breaker, wiring that is able to support heated floors (if necessary), proper wiring for the exhaust fan. All these have to be considered at the planning stage. especially if your basement wiring is older or wasn’t originally designed to support a bathroom.

Plumbing Rough-Ins and Drainage.

Depending on your basement layout you will have to work around rough-in locations if they already exist. Relocating drainage is not cheap so you may want to plan your renovation accordingly. If your basement doesn’t already have plumbing in place, we’ll need to cut into the concrete foundation to install drainage and connect to the main sewer line. It’s a complex job that requires coordination with the city and obtaining necessary permits.

Can I use my own plumber/electrician?
The short answer is no.We have a licensed, certified, and skilled plumber and an electrician who not only provide us with amazing pricing but are also a joy to work with. Their work is impeccable! The reason we prefer to work with our own crew is not to be difficult or restrictive, but rather, to ensure that we can stand behind our work with a warranty. We provide you with a 3-year warranty on our labor. For us to do that, we need to take control and ownership of the job site by entrusting our crew members who share our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional bathroom renovation project experience from concept to completion, and for that, we need to be the “chef in the kitchen”.
Can I do my demolition?
Well, sure, maybe, but why? It is very common for customers to think that a DIY demolition will reduce the cost significantly. It does not. Depending on the size and type of bathroom being renovated, a demolition can cost us between $200 to $500. It’s not an area where you can make significant savings through a DIY effort. You can certainly get your hands dirty if that’s what you’d like. However, if you are thinking about saving money, just tell us. We will try to work in some sort of a discount into your overall bathroom renovation project costs but still provide you with a full warranty and follow our standard process.
Can I finance my project?
Yes, we are affiliated with FinaceIt and we can provide the convenient option of low monthly or bi-weekly payments that are fully open and can be repaid at any time. Most of the customers who choose to finance their bathroom renovation project will either opt for low bi-weekly payments with long loan amortization but will not carry the loan to its full maturity. Instead, they use the loan as a bridge and when their mortgage is ready for renewal, they repay the loan converting it to a low-interest rate. Another option is payment deferrals for 3 to 9 months with zero interest. We post all new updates and promotions on our social media platforms, so feel free to follow us there for updates.
How soon can you start?
Most often, this depends on you. If all the materials you have selected are in stock and ready to go, we usually need 4-8 weeks before we can start. We do have a short notice waiting list too. Sometimes when a product is delayed and we have an opening, we can begin another project while we wait. Many of our customers have taken advantage of that and renovated their bathroom much sooner than expected.

Do you provide a warranty?
Yes, we are proud of the work we do and stand behind our quality with a 3-year warranty on labour.
What is the payment schedule?
1) With the signed accepted estimate, the contract payment structure for bathrooms is as follows:$500 deposit at the time of accepting the quote and 3 equal instalments for the balance when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion.2) For kitchen renovations, the initial $500 planning deposit is needed to develop the plans and the design for the exact kitchen quote (if a design and plans are needed). Paid after the home visit for initial consultation and measurements.Once the quote is accepted, the order of cabinets require 50% deposit for materials, then 2 equal payments upon delivery and upon installation.The rest of the labour costs, which is an estimate related to a general kitchen renovation work (other than cabinets order): like electrical, plumbing, drywall, tile etc., will have the initial planning deposit applied (credited) and the balance amount split into 3 equal payments paid when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion
3) For basement finishing contracts, depending on the scope of the project, but normally the initial $500 planning deposit is needed to develop the plans and the design for the exact scope of work in the basement. Paid after the home visit for initial consultation and measurements.
Once the quote is accepted, the initial planning deposit is applied (credited) and the balance amount split into 3 equal payments paid when the work has started, in the middle, and at the completion.
Where are you located, and do you work in my area?
Our home-based offices are in Stittsville, Kanata, and Barrhaven and Ottawa. We prefer not to rent or own physical office space as this will add to the cost of running a business and in turn drive the overall cost of bathroom renovations higher for our clients. Our contractors live across Ottawa, some in Stittsville, Nepean, Barrhaven, Kanata, and on the east end of Ottawa in Orleans.We service the entire Ottawa region. We have done bathroom, basement and kitchen renovation jobs in Carleton Place and Ashton, Arnprior, Stittsville, Kanata, Ottawa itself, and on the east end in Orleans, Rockland, and Cumberland.
How long will a bathroom renovation project take?
