We do not charge per sq. foot, although some other companies do that. We review each project and provide an estimate per project. This allows us to focus on quality and not on the cost. We are never trying to “just get the job” by looking at “how low can we price it”. Our goal is to complete the project professionally, provide our clients with good experience and pay our crews well enough so that they can live a good life. You can’t do all that by charging per square footage, so we don’t do it.
Here is an example of the cost for a flooring project, to give you an idea of how we work.
A flooring tile job at the entrance, hallway, powder room, kitchen and breakfast area of roughly 400sq.ft that includes removal of old tile, prep subfloor, removal of vanity toilet, toe kick of kitchen (kitchen cabinets stay in place) quarter rounds. Installation of Schluter Ditra, installation of 12×24 tile in the straight or staggered pattern will cost you roughly $8,500 with all rough materials and you will need to purchase your finish materials such as tile and grout.
Here is an example of the cost of a kitchen backsplash.
The basic installation of “standard’ tile in a “standard” pattern (straight or staggered) will start at $1400; that includes us supplying the thin-set mortar for the tile setting. You will need to purchase your tile and grout.
If we are removing old backsplash, installing new drywall and then installing the new backsplash, your cost will almost double, but usually would be around $2,000 to $2,200.
Here is an example of the cost of a stone wall.
A dry-stack stone around the fireplace or what we call a feature wall, 8 foot high and 5 foot wide. The cost of labour and rough materials start from $2,900.
