Ottawa Bathroom Renovation in Gloucester Near Innes Road: A Vertical Blue Oasis

We recently completed a three-piece Ottawa bathroom renovation in Gloucester, minutes from Innes Road. The layout worked, but the finishes felt dated and the space lacked storage, lighting, and a clear focal point.

Miracle Dream Homes transformed the room into a warm, modern retreat built for daily use. This project shows how the right tile direction, finishes, and storage choices can change the feel of a compact bathroom without overcomplicating the layout.

Designing with Depth: Vertical Ocean-Blue Feature Tile

The standout element of this bathroom remodelling project is the shower and tub surround. Instead of a standard horizontal pattern, we installed the tile in a vertical stack to lift the room visually and make the ceiling feel taller.

Ocean Blue subway tile: Multi-tonal blue tile installed vertically to draw the eye upward.
Clean grout lines: A tight, consistent finish for a tailored look.
Shower/tub surround focus: A strong feature wall that anchors the entire design.

Brushed Gold Accents for Warm Contrast

Blue tile reads cool. Gold reads warm. The combination adds contrast and keeps the space feeling inviting while staying modern.

Brushed gold showerhead and faucet
Gold-trimmed built-in shower niche
Gold-rimmed round mirror
Globe light fixture for softer, more even illumination

Smart Shower Storage with a Built-In Niche

Storage drives function in any 3-piece bathroom renovation. A built-in niche keeps bottles off corners and tub edges, reduces clutter, and speeds up cleaning.

Recessed niche with a flush profile
Tile-wrapped edges for a seamless look
Comfortable placement for everyday use

Tile performance depends on proper waterproofing behind the surface. For industry guidance on shower assemblies and moisture protection, review the Tile Council of North America resources: TCNA Shower FAQs.

Balancing Organic Texture and Modern Lines

Modern bathrooms risk feeling cold. This Gloucester bathroom remodel adds texture through wood grain and rattan while keeping clean lines and bright finishes.

Floating wood vanity: Wall-mounted to keep the floor visible and the room feeling open.
Gold pulls: Hardware that ties the vanity to the shower finishes.
Arched wall cabinet: Woven rattan inserts add warmth and soften the tile.
Bright surfaces: White countertop and crisp fixtures keep the space clean and light.
